Woman Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash Near Chestnut and Muscat
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 11, 2021) – A woman was seriously injured after a car crash near Chestnut Avenue and Muscat Avenue in Fresno County.
According to an article published by The Fresno Bee, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2 p.m.
The incident began when a a GMC Envoy was going south on South Chestnut Avenue approaching the intersection with East Muscat Avenue. At the same time, a Kia sedan was traveling north on Chestnut.
The Kia made a left turn onto eastbound Muscat directly into the path of the GMC. The Envoy veered to the right to avoid a collision but went off the road.
Children Involved in Rollover Collision
The California Highway Patrol said the GMC then slammed into a chain-link fence. The car rolled over at least once, ejecting its female driver in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the woman suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed her to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her children passengers, a boy and a girl, ended up unharmed following the wreck.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist in the Kia stopped and stayed at the site of the accident.
Officers forced the area of Chestnut and Muscat to shut down following the Fresno County crash. Authorities are still investigating the collision.
