Multiple Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 180

DATE OF COLLISION: Saturday, March 9th
March 9, 2019 – Injuries were reported following a traffic collision suspectedly triggered by a drunk driver on Highway 180 Saturday night, according to the Fresno Bee.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., an alleged DUI motorist crossed the center median and drove his westbound car onto the eastbound lanes of SR-180, just east of Academy Avenue.
The wrong-way driver eventually crashed into eastbound cars. The total count of the automobiles involved in the wreck was not immediately known.
Officials mentioned the people occupying the vehicles struck by the DUI driver suffered moderate injuries. The names of the victims, and their conditions at this time have not been released thus far.
DUI and Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Car Accident in Fresno County Saturday
Meanwhile, the suspect apparently ran away following the crash but officers were able to track and catch the man. The suspect, whose name remained undisclosed, was booked into Fresno County Jail and expected to be charged with DUI and hit-and-run.
