7 Hospitalized After Collision Near Greenwood and American Avenue
Fresno County, CA (May 30, 2022) – Several people suffered injuries following a suspected DUI crash that occurred in the area of Greenwood and American Avenue.
The ABC News published an article online reporting a car accident that occurred at the intersection in Fresno County Monday afternoon. Preliminary investigation revealed a GMC ran a stop sign at Greenwood Avenue and struck a Jeep as it sped through the crossing at American Avenue.
Shortly after 2 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the occupants of the GMC ejected onto the roadway. On the other hand, the Jeep came to a rest after slamming against a phone pole.
Major Car Accident in Fresno County
Medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, paramedics transported six people from the GMC; and one person from the Jeep to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Personal information on the patients remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, officers mentioned the driver of the Jeep showed signs of intoxication. Police arrested the driver but mentioned they were not at fault for the crash.
Further investigation is ongoing on the traffic collision at Greenwood and American Avenue in Fresno County.
