1 Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash Near Highway 180 and Cornelia Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 17, 2021) – A DUI crash near Highway 180 and Cornelia Avenue seriously injured a woman in Fresno County.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 5 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle was going west on Highway 180 near Cornelia Avenue in Fresno County. At the same time, another car was traveling east.
The California Highway Patrol said the two vehicles then collided head-on. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
DUI Factor in Head-On Collision Saturday
Medical personnel found the woman driving the eastbound car hurt as a result of the collision. They took her to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Officials did not release the name of the patient and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, the female driver of the westbound vehicle sustained minor wounds upon impact.
CHP determined that she was under the influence and was three times over the legal limit when she hit the victim. They added that the motorist had a suspended license.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, however, they affirmed that the case is not the first DUI of the suspect.
