1 Killed in Fresno County Crash Near Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 21, 2022) – A crash killed at least one person at Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the tragic accident late Friday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 11:05 p.m.
The incident happened when a red Ford Mustang and a big rig collided for an unknown reason in the Cromir community of Fresno County.
Big Rig and Car Collide
CHP said the semi-truck loaded with 46,000 lbs of fertilizer and the car crashed on Highway 33 at the intersection with Shaw Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 43 to shut down near Shaw Avenue for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
