1 Killed, 4 Injured in Fresno County Crash at Jensen and Sycamore Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 9, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured several others at Jensen and Sycamore avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:20 p.m.
The incident began when a Toyota Camry was going west Jensen Avenue, west of Sycamore Avenue, in Fresno County. At the same time, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east.
For an unknown reason, the Toyota made a sudden turn at Sycamore directly in front of the Jeep. The California Highway Patrol said the two cars then collided in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman driving the Camry dead at the scene. The four people riding the Cherokee ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took them to the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Jensen and Sycamore avenues to shut down for a time following the wreck.
Officers affirmed that the occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts when they crashed. The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
