2 Vehicles Collide Head-On Near Dickenson Avenue
Fresno County, CA (April 16, 2022) – One person died following a car accident that occurred on Highway 180, according to Your Central Valley and Fresno Bee.
Earlier reports indicated two vehicles collided head-on on SR-180 on April 15, Friday. Preliminary investigation revealed a car heading east on the highway veered into the opposite lane for an unknown reason. The wrong-way car eventually crashed into a pickup truck heading west in the area near Dickenson Avenue.
1 Killed, 1 Injured in Fresno County Car Accident on Highway 180
Shortly after 8:25 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the driver of the Honda Civic unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the motorist sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Officers added the driver of the pickup truck sustained minor wound as a result of the wreck. The name of the injured driver, and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
Investigators continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the fatal crash on Highway 180 in Fresno County.
