1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash at Jensen and Marks Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2022) – A DUI crash killed one person and seriously injured another at Jensen and Marks avenues in Fresno County.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 8:40 p.m.
The incident began when a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving faster than the speed limit north on Marks Avenue, approaching Jensen Avenue, in Fresno County.
At the same time, a GMC Yukon was traveling on Jensen. The California Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet ran a stop sign at the intersection and then broadsided the GMC.
DUI Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe and the motorist in the Yukon sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patients to the Community Regional Medical Center, where one of them died. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the person driving the Chevrolet was under the influence of alcohol when they hit the other car. The fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the area of Jensen and Marks avenues to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
