2 Killed in Fresno County Crash Near Belmont and Zediker Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (January 28, 2022) – A head-on crash killed two people near Belmont and Zediker avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 6 p.m. near Sanger.
The incident began when a white Toyota Camry tried to pass two vehicles and entered the lane of oncoming traffic. In the process, the Camry struck a silver Toyota Corolla head-on.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
The California Highway Patrol said the two cars crashed near the intersection of Belmont and Zediker avenues. The Camry rolled over while both vehicles obtained heavy damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then extricated the occupants from the wreckage. They soon pronounced the driver of the Camry and the motorist in the Corolla dead at the scene.
The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the area of Belmont and Zediker avenues to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
