Woman, 51, Killed in Fresno County Hit-and-Run at Dickenson and Olive Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 11, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a woman at Dickenson and Olive avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision on February 10 at about 9:15 p.m.
The incident began when a 51-year-old woman was driving a green Pontiac Grand Am north on Dickenson Avenue. For an unknown reason, she lost control of her car and overcorrected.
The California Highway Patrol said the Pontiac then rolled over. The female motorist ended up ejected in the process and landed on the road.
Victim Ejected From Car, Hit by Van in Fresno County
A van traveling southbound on Dickenson approached and ran over the victim at the intersection with Olive Avenue. Paramedics responded and found her left lying on the ground as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene. The name of the deceased woman has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the driver of the van failed to stop to render aid and ultimately fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
