2 Killed in Traffic Collision at Central and Maple Avenue Monday
Fresno, CA (March 15, 2021) – Two people died following a crash involving a train in the area of Central and Maple Avenue Monday evening.
According to Your Central Valley, an Amtrak passenger train was traveling south at the Fresno intersection.
The catastrophic incident took place when the passenger vehicle attempted to go around the crossing arms. Per local news source, the oncoming Amtrak train struck the car while driving through the junction.
Officials said the train dragged the vehicle for a while before coming to a stop.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the site. Paramedics reportedly rendered aid to all parties found at the scene; including the 26 passengers on board the train.

Our sources confirmed two people sadly died as a result of the collision. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the names of the deceased remained undisclosed.
