At Least 1 Killed in Collision at Nees and Fairfax Avenue Friday
Fresno, CA (August 20, 2021) – A deadly traffic accident occurred Friday afternoon in the area of Nees and Fairfax Avenue.
According to Your Central Valley, a sedan was traveling north at the intersection. Officials said the car initially stopped at a stop sign and then pulled out. In the process, an oncoming truck hit the passenger side of the sedan.
The force from the impact pushed the car to the direction of an irrigation canal. Officials said the sedan ended up partially submerged in the water.
Fatal Car and Truck Accident in Fresno, August 20
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the driver of the car but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, a 37-year-old male, appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate liability in the deadly car and truck accident at Nees and Fairfax Avenue in Fresno.
