2 Injured in Fresno Car Crash at Church and Chestnut Avenues
FRESNO, CA (August 29, 2021) – A DUI crash left two people injured at Church Avenue and Chestnut Avenue in Fresno.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the accident took place late Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 11:30 a.m.
The incident began when a black Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed in the city of Fresno. The car ran a red light at the intersection of Church and Chestnut avenues.
Speeding DUI Driver Hits Multiple Vehicles
Police said the Toyota then slammed into multiple vehicles, including a van. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the driver of the van and the speeding motorist hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took them to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police determined that the driver of the Camry was under the influence when they hit the victims.
Officers forced the area of Church and Chestnut avenue to shut down for a time following the wreck. The Fresno DUI crash is still under investigation.
