
Officer Hit and Injured by Vehicle at Maple and Belmont
Fresno, CA (February 22, 2023) – A community service officer suffered injuries following a suspected DUI collision that occurred in the area of Maple and Belmont Avenue.
According to ABC30 News, the officer was blocking the intersection with her vehicle. Earlier reports indicated the deputy was part of a group working to clear a downed tree in the area.
Officials said a passing vehicle, driven by an allegedly intoxicated man, rear-ended the patrol vehicle blocking the roadway. The crash took place on February 21, Tuesday, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Responding paramedics immediately attended to the officer, then rushed her to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Suspected DUI Collision in Fresno
Authorities believed the civilian motorist that hit the officer was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the accident happened. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the crash that happened at Maple and Belmont Avenue in Fresno.
