2 Injured in Fresno Crash at Tulare Avenue and Fourth Street
FRESNO, CA (June 28, 2022) – Two were hospitalized after a DUI crash at Tulare Avenue and Fourth Street in Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, the accident took place on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 9 p.m.
The incident began when a Fresno police officer was conducting a traffic stop in the area of Tulare Avenue and Fourth Street.
A vehicle approached and then slammed into the back of the police unit near the intersection. The impact forced the patrol car into another vehicle in front of it.
DUI Driver Hits Police Car
Paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found two people riding the car pulled over by the officer hurt. Both occupants complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patients to a hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded patients and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police determined that the driver who rear-ended their unit was under the influence of alcohol. They soon arrested the 36-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI.
Officers forced the area of Tulare Avenue and Fourth Street to shut down following the wreck. The Fresno crash is still under investigation.
