1 Injured in Fresno DUI Hit-and-Run Crash at Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue
FRESNO, CA (July 6, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a DUI hit-and-run crash at Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue in Fresno.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 9 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue in Fresno.
Police said the male driver then slammed into two other vehicles and made a U-turn. He continued southbound on Friant Road and fled the area.
DUI Driver Hits Cars, Flees Scene
Witnesses followed the motorist and detained him. Police responded and determined that he was under the influence at the time. They soon arrested the man on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run.
Meanwhile, firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found one victim who ended up suffering from minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to an area hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Police forced the intersection of Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The Fresno DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
