1 Killed, 1 Injured in Fiery Car Crash at West and Bullard Avenue Thursday
Fresno, CA (March 11, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident in the area of West and Bullard Avenue Thursday afternoon.
According to Fresno Bee, the incident began at about 3:12 p.m. Officers reportedly received a call to check on the welfare of a man inside a vehicle at Marks and Browning avenues. When officers arrived at the intersection, they found a man alone inside a utility van.
Responding officials communicated with the driver, but for an unknown reason, he fled away and drove at a high rate of speed eastbound on Bullard from Marks Avenue. Given that, on-duty officers launched a pursuit.
When the suspect vehicle approached the junction at West and Bullard Avenue, it collided into another car. The force from the impact caused the utility van to rollover multiple times.
Deadly Car Accident in Fresno, March 11
The utility van eventually smashed into a street light on the southeast corner of the Fresno intersection. Following the crash, the utility van burst into flames. Per local news source, authorities pronounced the driver of the utility van dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the innocent driver of the other other car complained of pain after the incident. Responding paramedics transported the injured motorist to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation.
