FRESNO, California (December 5, 2014) – At least one person was killed and one injured Friday morning in a crash at the intersection of North Leonard and East Shields avenues, just east of the Fresno Yosemite International Airport according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
The traffic accident was reported about 7:42 a.m. between the drivers of a white Toyota sedan and a white Ford Edge.
Paramedics responded to the crash and some of them began helping one of the individuals at the scene while others went to assist one of the people who was trapped. At least one of the victims died at the scene and the other appears to have been hospitalized.
The roadway was closed at Shields and reopened at 9:36 a.m.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
