Suspected DUI Driver Runs Red Light Hits Car Killing Kelly Phetxoumphone, 23.
FRESNO, California (March 28, 2016) — A DUI driver was arrested following a collision that killed Kelly Phetxoumphone, 23, of Fresno, and injured two other people Sunday morning at Ashlan and Palm avenues, a report by ABC News 30 stated.
The collision took place when a 21-year-old man identified as Lawrence Walker allegedly drove through a red traffic light and crashed into the side of another vehicle. Phetxoumphone was a passenger in that car hit by Walker. The driver of that car suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.
Police say Walker fled the scene, but they later located him and took him to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. He was found to be driving under the influence and was arrested on DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
