1 Killed, 3 Injured in Fresno Crash at Jensen and Marks Avenues
FRESNO, CA (July 2, 2022) – A DUI crash killed one person and injured several others at Jensen and Marks avenues in Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 4 a.m.
The incident began when a white 2002 Acura RSX was going north on Marks Avenue, approaching Jensen Avenue, in Fresno. The car then ran the stop sign at the intersection.
In the process, the Acura went directly into the path of a black 2013 Nissan truck. The California Highway Patrol said the Acura slammed into the Nissan.
Drunk Driver Hits Another Car
A front seat passenger in the Acura, a 38-year-old man, died as a result of the collision. The female driver of the same car sustained major injuries upon impact.
Paramedics rushed her to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 39-year-old man driving the truck, and his passenger, a 34-year-old woman, survived with minor injuries.
The 15-year-old boy riding with the two Fresno residents in the Nissan ended up unharmed. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the woman in the Acura was under the influence of alcohol when she hit the victims. They soon arrested her on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter.
Officers forced the area of Jensen and Marks avenues to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fresno crash is still under investigation.
