
Pedestrian Killed in Fresno Crash at Belmont and Palm Avenues
FRESNO, CA (February 17, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Belmont Avenue and Palm Avenue in the city of Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision on February 17 shortly after 6 a.m.
The incident happened when a woman was pushing a shopping cart on Belmont Avenue at the intersection with Palm Avenue.
Woman Hit by Car
Fresno police said for an unknown reason, a car struck the female pedestrian. Paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found her lying on the ground and the damaged vehicle parked beside her.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital, where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced Belmont to shut down from Wilson to Palm avenues for several hours after the collision.
The cause of the fatal Fresno pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
