Pedestrian Killed in Fresno Crash on Cedar Avenue Near Alamos and Shaw
FRESNO, CA (April 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after an accident along Cedar Avenue near the state university in Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic collision occurred late Sunday night. Officers reported the crash at about 11 p.m.
The incident happened on April 18 when a female pedestrian was crossing North Cedar Avenue near California State University, Fresno. At the same time, a vehicle was going north.

Police said for an unknown reason, the driver then struck the woman in her 50s. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near East Alamos Avenue and Shaw Avenue.
They found the victim, possibly a transient, down on the ground as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced her dead at the scene.
Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the crash site after hitting the woman.
Officials forced the roadway to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the fatal Fresno pedestrian accident is still under investigation.
