Man, 23, Killed in Fresno Crash on Highway 168 Near Ashlan Avenue
FRESNO (December 14, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in the rain after a traffic collision along Highway 168 early Saturday.
According to an article published by The Fresno Bee, the fatal accident took place shortly after 1:30 a.m. just east of Ashlan Avenue.
California Highway Patrol said a 23-year-old man was walking in the westbound lane of Highway 168 when for an unknown reason a vehicle struck him.

The incident began when the car, a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, was driving around 60 mph. The driver allegedly failed to see the victim and ultimately hit him.
Paramedics responded to the site and pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the 25-year-old woman driving the Hyundai Elantra stopped after hitting the victim and cooperated with the authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
