1 Hospitalized After Collision at Cedar and Gettysburg
Fresno, CA (July 14, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Cedar and Gettysburg Avenue, the Fresno Bee News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed a fire engine was responding to a medical call in northeast Fresno Wednesday afternoon. According to the article published online, the engine had its lights and sirens on. The driver of the fire truck apparently slowed down as they approached the intersection. When the fire engine drove through, another car sped into the crossing. Our sources indicated the fire engined crashed into the driver side of the private vehicle.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics attended to all parties involved in the accident. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the driver of the private vehicle was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the three firefighters in the engine appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate liability in the collision that happened at Cedar and Gettysburg Avenue.
