Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash Highway 99 at Herndon Avenue

1 Injured in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99 at Herndon Avenue

FRESNO, CA (May 1, 2021) – At least one was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 at Herndon Avenue in Fresno.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Saturday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly before 4:30 a.m.

Two vehicles collided for an unknown reason on northbound Highway 99 at the Herndon Avenue off-ramp in Fresno. One of them caught fire upon impact.

Driver Hits Another Car, Flees on Foot

CHP described the cars involved as a 2000 gold Nissan Frontier pickup and a gold 2009 Infiniti X35. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.

They found one victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient the Community Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a driver involved abandoned their vehicle and fled the area.

Officers forced the northbound Highway 99 at Herndon to shut down for half an hour following the Fresno crash. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
