BIOLA, Fresno — According to an article by Fresnobee, a man suffered fatal injuries as a result of a head-on collision on Shaw Avenue near Biola Avenue on November 23, Wednesday.
The deadly accident occurred in the evening at about 7:35 p.m.
As per the report, the deceased was a passenger in a 2001 Toyota sedan which was struck by a speeding vehicle driven by Jose Manuel Andrade Blanco, aged 24.
The man, who was initially reported as a 15-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Juan Carlos Diaz-Rodriguez, 29, of Biola.
The wrecked Toyota was also occupied by a 40-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, and a female juvenile. All parties were transported to the hospital for treatment of sustained moderate to major injuries.
Suspect Andrade Blanco initially evaded the crash site but was apprehended in a nearby orchard. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital before being arrested on multiple counts–suspicion of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony DUI causing death/injury and hit and run resulting in death and injury.
Further, two other people in a 2003 Ford Focus driving behind the Toyota and hit in the crash suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
