FRESNO (October 19, 2016)- According to the Fresno Police Department, Kenneth Janssen, 56, has been identified as the victim killed in a hit-and-run collision.
Police officials responded to the scene of a pedestrian versus auto collision which took place at roughly 10:40 p.m. at Brawley and Shields avenues.
Authorities disclosed that Janssen had been walking along the sidewalk before being struck by an out of control sedan headed northbound on Brawley.
The driver got out of the vehicle briefly to check on the 56-year-old man before running back into the car and fleeing the scene.
Janssen sadly did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No further details have been provided as Fresno police officials continue to locate the hit-and-run suspect responsible.
