Garibaldy’s Stopped Car Hit by Another Vehicle, Seriously Hurt
FRESNO, California (July 4, 2016) – Two women identified as Mariela Garibaldy and Ana Martinez were hospitalized after a traffic collision in Tarpey Village on Sunday afternoon, according to The Fresno Bee.
The collision took place in the area of Ashlan and Clovis avenues about 12:30 p.m.
California Highway Patrol said 25-year-old Mariela Garibaldy was in a Honda Accord stopped at the light on Clovis Avenue at Ashlan Avenue when she was rear-ended by a black Toyota pickup driven by 35-year-old Jerry Vue, of Fresno.
The Toyota pushed the Accord into another vehicle which was trying to make a turn at the intersection.
Garibaldy, also of Fresno, was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The third driver, 68-year-old Clovis resident Ana Martinez, was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
Vue was reportedly driving between 65 to 70 mph at the time of the wreck. He was unharmed.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to have played a role in the incident which is still under investigation.
