Motorcycle Rider Critically Injured in Fresno Crash at Clinton and Shields
FRESNO, CA (February 3, 2021) – A motorcyclist was critically injured after a crash at Clinton and Shields avenues in Fresno.
The incident happened when the motorcycle rider was traveling west on West Clinton Avenue. Police said a minivan then ran a red light at the intersection with North Fruit Avenue.
In the process, the two collided. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the motorcycle on fire.
Distracted Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Motorcyclist
The motorcyclist ended up suffering from critical injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the victim to the hospital and listed them in critical condition.
Police did not release the name of the wounded party. Meanwhile, the male driver of the minivan and the two children riding with him sustained minor injuries upon impact.
Officials also transported the three patients for treatment. Police confirmed that the operator of the van became distracted by the juveniles in the back of the vehicle prior to the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
