Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Fresno Crash on Highway 99 Near Herndon
FRESNO, CA (March 22, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 99 near Herndon Avenue in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Tuesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 7:45 p.m.
The incident happened when for an unknown reason, a Ford pickup truck slammed into the back of a motorcycle in Fresno. The two crashed on southbound Highway 99, just south of Herndon Avenue.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the rider who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stayed following the wreck. The cause of the Fresno crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down near Herndon after the incident.
