Man hit by car in central Fresno at Blackstone and Shields Avenues
FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2021) — A Fresno pedestrian accident left a man hospitalized Monday night.
The 49-year-old man was hospitalized on Sept. 13th, shortly after being struck by a car in central Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.
It happened just before 8 pm near Blackstone Avenue and Shields Avenue, according to ABC 30 News.
The man was reportedly jaywalking when an oncoming vehicle struck him near the center divider.
The driver stopped following the collision to help the man and is cooperating with police.
Meanwhile, the pedestrian was conscious and paramedics rushed him by ambulance to the hospital. The report did not mention how seriously the man was injured and did not release his name, age or city of residence.
Police closed down the northbound lanes of Blackstone at Dakota.
Investigators will determine the cause of the crash and liability.
