Pedestrian Injured in Fresno Hit-and-Run at Belmont Avenue and Parkway Drive
FRESNO, CA (September 18, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Belmont Avenue and Parkway Drive in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 3:45 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Fresno. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and North Parkway Drive.
Victim Hit by Truck
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 99. They found the victim who complained of pain to their back as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and then fled northbound on Highway 99 at Belmont. They described the vehicle as a truck pulling a trailer.
Officers forced the area of Belmont Avenue and Parkway Drive to close following the collision. The Fresno hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
