Teenager Hospitalized After Collision at First and Shields Avenue Thursday
Fresno, CA (June 17, 2021) – A 15-year-old scooter rider suffered injuries following a traffic accident in the area of First and Shields Avenue, the ABC30 News reported.
The crash happened Thursday shortly before 5 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed the teenager was riding a scooter heading north on First Avenue. When the young man approached the intersection at Shields Avenue, he collided with a vehicle of unknown make and model.

The force from the impact ejected the rider onto the west lanes of Shields. When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the injured teenager. Due to the serious condition of the victim, an ambulance rushed the patient to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officials mentioned the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine exactly how and why the scooter accident in Fresno happened.
