Personal Injury Lawyer
A forensic examination of both the pickup truck and the victim involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each party was going, whom among the driver and the skateboarder had the right-of-way, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, and whether or not there were any mechanical issues with the pickup. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by each vehicle and skateboarder such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
Pending results of investigation, the victim will be granted the right to file a personal injury claim. Victims in similar cases have the right to seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills, and pain and suffering.
