Big Rig Truck, Pickup Overturn on State Route 99
FRESNO, Calif. (July 17, 2024) — Two trucks were involved in a traffic accident Wednesday on the northbound State Route Highway 99, near the Jensen Avenue off ramp in Fresno California.
The traffic accident occurred at around 5:02 PM Wednesday July 17th 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A semi-truck hit a red pickup truck that was pulling a trailer due to unknown circumstances. The accident became a major traffic hazard in the middle lane of the highway. The truck and trailer flipped over and was blocking traffic lanes. The semi-truck also overturned during the collision. Meanwhile, the CHP reported someone got a child out of the overturned pickup truck. Also, the report said one of the trucks was carrying a lot of liquid and tables the fell into the roadway.
Paramedics responded and located those with injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. In addition, tow trucks were requested on the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the accident in Fresno on State Route 99.
