Woman Critically Injured in Crash on Effie Street and Ashlan Avenue
FRESNO, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2020) — A woman is in critical condition after a pedestrian accident Tuesday night in northeast Fresno.
Fresno police responded to a 911 call around 8:30 p.m. at Effie Street and Ashlan Avenue near Blackstone.
The victim was in the center median of the roadway, but she reportedly stepped out into oncoming traffic, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The driver whose car struck the woman remained on the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. Meanwhile, some other motorists stopped to help the injured woman as well.
Paramedics transported the injured woman to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition and is expected to survive.
