CHP officials responded to the crash site which occurred at roughly 3:10 p.m. near Lost Lake Road.
Albert Machado, 26, a resident of North Hollywood, was identified as the driver of an Infiniti who had been traveling the wrong way. A Saturn occupied by four had been traveling southbound in the same direction before being struck head-on by Machado.
All four parties inside the Saturn were seriously injured following the wreck. The driver was identified as 18-year-old Kenneth Verhaar, while his passengers were Jescenia Ganez, and Cassandra Sifuentes, both 18.
The fourth occupant in the Saturn was only identified as a 17-year-old.
Authorities determined that Machado had been under the influence as he was arrested after being uninjured in the wreck. He was transported to Fresno County jail.
