FULLERTON, California (October 7, 2016) — A driver allegedly ran through a red traffic light, crashed into another motorist and then into the Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant at Lemon Street and Commonwealth Avenue, according to a report by the Fullerton Police Department.
The crash took place Thursday night about 10:38 p.m. The woman driving the car was given a ticket for running the light and causing the crash. Minor injuries were suffered by at least one person involved, but details were not provided.
Police closed down Lemon Street’s northbound lanes between East Santa Fe Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue to investigate the collision.

There were 165 people killed and 13,837 people were injured in 2013 Orange County traffic accidents, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide integrated Traffic Report. In Fullerton, 8 people were killed and 842 were injured in crashes in 2013, including one fatal motorcycle crash and 67 injury motorcycle crashes, the CHP statistics report said.
