1 Killed, 2 Injured in Fullerton Crash on 57 Freeway Near Yorba Linda Boulevard
FULLERTON, CA (October 24, 2021) – A crash killed one person and injured two others on the 57 Freeway near Yorba Linda Boulevard in Fullerton.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:50 p.m.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch said the incident began when a white vehicle was driving recklessly on the southbound 57 Freeway in Fullerton.
2 Cars Collide
In the process, the car slammed into a blue Honda Pilot near Yorba Linda Boulevard. The Honda then rolled down an embankment and struck multiple trees in the area.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated three trapped occupants from the wreckage. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed at least two patients to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of 57 Freeway to shut down for about three hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fullerton crash is still under investigation.
