Big Rig Jackknifes and Collides With Several Vehicles
FULLERTON (August 1, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, the southbound 57 freeway came to a standstill after a big rig jackknifed following a collision with several other vehicles this afternoon.
At roughly 12:03 p.m., a semi-truck, a white Chevy Equinox, a Dodge Ram, and possibly several other vehicles were involved in the accident which occurred near Imperial Avenue.
For unknown reasons, the semi-truck jackknifed across the No. 1-4 lanes of the highway basically blocking all traffic lanes.
Multiple Parties Injured
Drivers of both the Chevy Equinox and the Dodge Ram were both confirmed to have been hurt allegedly transported to local area hospitals with complaints of pain.
No information was provided on the health status and condition of the big rig driver.
The big rig and both of the other vehicles are in the process of being towed away from the scene at 1:00 p.m.
Authorities will remain on scene and traffic will be backed up for several hours until the road is cleared.
