Gabriel Armendariz, 29, Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run on Highway 280
SAN JOSE (March 7, 2018) – A man killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident on the Interstate Highway 280 Monday has been identified as Gabriel Armendariz, according to The Mercury News.
Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said the 29-year-old San Jose resident died after he was struck by a vehicle near McLaughlin Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Armendariz was driving a green Honda sedan when for an unknown reason he collided with a white Chevrolet pickup truck. He then lost control of his car and struck a tan Toyota sedan.
San Jose Fatal Accident on Interstate Highway 280
The truck came to a rest in the center divider while the other two vehicles ended up in the traffic lanes. The incident occurred around 7:05 p.m. on southbound Highway 280.
As Armendariz exited his Honda, he was ultimately hit by a motorist who was traveling south at the time. He was pronounced dead.
The driver who fatally injured Armendariz did not stop and left the scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact CHP at (408) 467-5400.
