Coroner Identifies Bicyclist Killed By Vehicle in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 23, 2022) – Gabriel Falcon, 32, of Long Beach, died early Saturday when a vehicle struck him at Anaheim Street and Coronado Avenue in Long Beach.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim.
A driver in a 2009 Toyota Corolla was heading westbound on Anaheim Street prior to the collision. The vehicle reportedly struck the bicyclist about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st as he rode his bike eastbound in the westbound lanes of Anaheim Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The victim became unconscious when he fell into the roadway, police said. Someone called 911 to summon police and paramedics to the scene.
Paramedics responded and pronounced Falcon dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota Corolla stopped the vehicle and remained at the scene. The driver, who is from Glendale, also cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities do not suspect distracted driving, impaired driving, or speed were factors in the crash.
