Gabriel Nieto Ruiz, 26, Killed in Meadowbrook Head-On Crash on Highway 74
MEADOWBROOK, CA (April 28, 2021) – Gabriel Nieto Ruiz was killed after a car crash on Highway 74 near Meadowbrook, southwest of Perris.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the 26-year-old Fallbrook man as the victim of the fatal wreck on Tuesday afternoon.
The Press Enterprise and Patch reported that the incident began when Gabriel Nieto Ruiz was driving a Honda Civic west on Highway 74 near Meadowbrook.
At the same time, a Mercedes-Benz pulled out from the parking lot at La Guadalupana Produce Market on Ethanac Road. It drove west onto Highway 74 and then moved through the eastbound lanes for an unknown reason.
A Toyota Camry traveling east at the time tried to avoid collision with an evasive maneuver. However, the Toyota collided with the Mercedes-Benz.

The California Highway Patrol said the Camry ultimately slammed head-on with the Honda. Both cars were going at about 55 mph when they crashed.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced Gabriel Nieto Ruiz dead at the scene. The accident occurred on April 27 at around 3:47 p.m.
Medical personnel took the driver of the Toyota to the Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with a broken right leg. They listed the 19-year-old Perris man in serious but stable condition.
The motorist in the Mercedes-Benz, a 28-year-old Moreno Valley woman, ended up unharmed following the wreck. The fatal Meadowbrook crash is still under investigation.
