CERRITOS: Gabriela Hernandez ID’d in Double Fatal Crash on 605 Freeway; Ulises Rodriguez, Yenit Rivera Injured
CERRITOS, California — Gabriela Hernandez and a man were killed following a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 605 freeway early Saturday morning.
On March 11, six vehicles were involved in a mishap that took place near Interstate 91 freeway interchange, according to an article by ABC 7.
Paramedics arrived shortly after 1:09 a.m. and located a male driver dead at the scene. Officials said the man, for unknown reason, was outside his 1999 Saturn and was fatally hit by a vehicle.
Four other parties from two separate automobiles were reportedly transported to hospitals following the accident.
One from the hospitalized was 24-year-old Hernandez, a passenger in a 2007 Honda. She was later pronounced deceased due to blunt force trauma.
Other victims taken to the hospital were briefly described as a female passenger, and a male occupant. Officials said the woman suffered major fracture to her nasal bone, while the man had moderate lacerations to his legs.
In a similar article posted by KTLA, two injured parties were identified as 32-year-old Ulises Rodriguez, and 30-year-old Yenit Esquivel Rivera. It was not clear whether the identified were the similar people initially mentioned as injured.
Meanwhile, police officers arrested 36-year-old Amy Johnson after the incident. The California Highway Patrol news release did not mention the charges being faced by the 2016 Honda driver, who was also injured following the mishap.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
