1 Killed in Galt Car Crash on Highway 99 Near 99 Frontage and Liberty
GALT, CA (June 11, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 99 near 99 Frontage Road in Galt.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:35 p.m.
A pickup truck and a sedan collided for an unknown reason in the city of Galt. The two crashed on Highway 99 near 99 Frontage Road and Liberty Road.
2 Cars Collide in Galt
One of the cars involved then caught fire upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. CHP did not mention if any other party sustained injuries after the wreck.
Meanwhile, officials soon closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 99 following the accident. The cause of the fatal Galt car crash is still under investigation.
