Gankuyag Nyamdorj Arrested After Fatal Car Accident
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2018) – A driver identified as Gankuyag Nyamdorj was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after a collision killed a Hispanic man in his 30s Monday morning in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, police said.
The crash took place about 2:24 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
Paramedics and police responded to the scene, but unfortunately, the pedestrian died before they could be taken to the hospital, the coroner’s office said.
Nyamdorj was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time his 2017 Lexus RX350 struck the victim. He is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and is being held on $100,000 bail.

At this time, it appears that the driver was allegedly driving while intoxicated and he will face potential criminal charges and a possible civil lawsuit. Immediate relatives of a person who dies in a collision due to a negligent driver may file a wrongful death claim.
