1 Killed in Garden Grove Crash on 22 Freeway Near Valley View
GARDEN GROVE, CA (March 31, 2023) – A crash killed at least one person on the 22 Freeway near Valley View Street in Garden Grove.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck on March 31 at around 11:53 p.m.
The incident happened when for an unknown reason, a sedan collided with a big rig in Garden Grove. The two crashed on the westbound 22 Freeway near Valley View Street.
Car and Big Rig Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. The report did not mention if any other party ended up hurt upon impact.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the 22 Freeway to shut down for several hours near Valley View following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Garden Grove crash is still under investigation.
