At Least 1 Killed in Collision Near Harbor (110) Freeway Saturday
Gardena, CA (January 1, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a fatal car crash that occurred on Interstate 405, also known as San Diego Freeway.
Initial records indicated a vehicle was found flipped on its side in the northbound side of I-405. Officials said the car slammed then drove over the center median of the freeway. The vehicle ended up disabled near the connecting road onto Interstate 110, also known as Harbor Freeway.
CHP logged the catastrophic incident at about 5:31 a.m.

When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found a male party standing outside the overturned car; and a female party ejected onto the southbound lanes of I-110. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the crash. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sadly died as a result of the accident. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly collision on Interstate 405 in Gardena.
