Gardena Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Vermont and Marine Avenues

Pedestrian Killed in Gardena Crash at Vermont and Marine Avenues

GARDENA, CA (March 13, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash at Vermont and Marine avenues in Gardena.

According to an article published by The Daily Bulletin, the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the collision on March 12 at around 6 p.m.

The incident happened when the pedestrian was walking across Vermont Avenue in Gardena. She was crossing the intersection of Marine Avenue at the time.

For an unknown reason, a Toyota Prius going south then struck the victim in a crosswalk. Police said the car hit the person near the southwest corner of Rosecrans Park.

Victim Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim down on the ground. The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital, where they died. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the person. Officers forced the area of Vermont and Marine avenues to shut down for a time following the collision.

The cause of the fatal Gardena pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
