Pedestrian Killed in Gardena Hit-and-Run Near Western Avenue and 132nd Street
GARDENA, CA (June 6, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Western Avenue and 132nd Street in Gardena.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Saturday night. Officers reported the incident on June 5 at about 9:50 p.m.
Gardena police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver involved hit the person near the intersection of Western Avenue and 132nd Street.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and then found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officials shut down the intersection of Western Avenue and 132nd Street following the collision.
